Wine mellows when served in a ceramic vessel and you can enjoy table wine casually in this stemless cup. The curve of the body is soothing in your hand. Of course, it is also suitable for tea or dessert instead of wine.

A border line has been created by overlapping white slip. Kohiki is water-absorbent and can stain so some worry about how to care for kohiki ware. Once a friend of mine had been drinking red wine for a long time from a kohiki cup, and over time it created a beautiful mauve color. Coaxing forth the patina with regular use can be a  nice way to enjoy kohiki vessels.
